RCI explained it as That is a new cruise option for members to use Trading Power or points towards. Members may now use 7 Trading Power or 20,000 Points towards an Exchange for a Cruise on select cruise lines (Norwegian Cruise Lines and Princess Cruises) and get up to $1200 in additional RCI savings when booking a cruise!
With an RCI Membership, you see all the same resorts whether you own the most expensive timeshare or the least expensive one. If you have the TPUs or points, you can book that exchange no matter what you own.
Whereas RCI Weeks members can exchange their timeshare using the traditional "like-for-like" exchange, RCI points members enjoy a greater level of flexibility since their timeshare ownership entitles them to an annual allocation of RCI points which can then be used in much the same way a as a currency.
So, for example, if we took two timeshare owners with identical sized apartments at the same time of year and at the same resort, the RCI Weeks member will generally only be able to exchange the week he owns for another week at another RCI resort. However, the RCI Points member will have an amount of points (let's say 50,000) which could then be used to book one, two or even three weeks of holiday. Whilst the 50,000 points he is allocated on an annual basis is enough to book one week or similar value to that of the timeshare he owns, the points can be made to go much further if booking smaller sized accommodation at less in-demand time of year etc.
There are many ways one can become an RCI Points member. One way is for existing timeshare owners to apply to have their timeshare converted or "ceded" into RCI Points. Here, the existing owner continues to own (and would be responsible for) their original week of timeshare but is instead given an annual allocation of points by RCI to use for booking their holidays. Another way to become an RCI Points may be to purchase "pure" points from a timeshare developer. Here, whilst the points are still underpinned by a timeshare resort in the RCI system, the ownership deed would state the amount of points own. The two scenarios are very similar although there maybe differences in relation to the booking of holidays within the "home" resort (the resort or group of resorts from where the timeshare points originate) or the annual management fees.
The RCI Points system enable members to save any points not used in a particular year and carry them across to be used the following year. This means that if you we're to own an annual allocation of 50,000 points and only use 30,000 in year one, the remaining 20,000 points would be carried over to be used the following year.
Should you find that one year you need extra points to book the holidays you want you can borrow points from your following years' allocation to make up any shortfall. Alternatively, you could also "rent" additional points via RCI.
If you are considering how best to buy RCI points then we would encourage you to speak with one of our consultants on 01202 544 870. We have many RCI Points products on our books but depending on your needs, some products may be much better suited than others.
RCI Points is a type of timeshare ownership in an RCI affiliated resort, where RCI has assigned a point value for all RCI resorts, assigning a certain number of points for a vacation stay of one night or more, for any size unit and any time of the year. The points can be exchanged through RCI for shorter or longer vacations in any unit size desired, as well as for travel-related products, including airfare, cruises, car rental, and hotel reservations. If you want to stay somewhere there is no timeshare, you can use your points for hotels. Or, maybe you just want to use your points for cruises or airline tickets, or car rentals, or any combination thereof. The flexibility is really pretty exciting. The points can be spent just like dollars and every year you get your new annual allotment of points to spend. To use your points, you simply call the RCI Points toll free number and tell the RCI Guide what you want to do.Any use of RCI Points involves being able to confirm an exchange EXCEPT for use in your own resort. In your own resort you can make reservations 12 months in advance, whereas anyone not owning in your resort can only make an exchange request 10 months in advance.Points can also be used for non-timeshare products. The term for non-timeshare products is RCI Points "Partners". More information is available with a phone call to the RCI Points toll free number. If ypu own both Points weeks and non-Points weeks, you will have two RCI accounts but only one annual membership fee. One RCI weeks account and one RCI Points account. You can use your weeks account and your points account as separate transactions. Also if you own your weeks in certain resorts that qualify, you may be able to deposit your weeks and use them as RCI Points.
We recommend seeking professional advice, but this can be time-consuming and a bit tricky because many timeshare resale companies try to charge exorbitant prices to list your timeshare. We have found that more often than not, these entities are more concerned with getting a prepaid marketing fee than the successful sale of your timeshare.
Before canceling your timeshare, it is essential to find legitimate timeshare exit providers or timeshare resale companies. We created a comprehensive list of what to look for when doing business with a timeshare resale or exit company:
The fastest way to sell your RCI timeshare is to hire a reputable timeshare resale company and list your timeshare for $1.00 and pay the transfer fees for the prospective buyer. The downside is that even doing this may take months or even years to find someone willing to buy your timeshare.
Usually, timeshares sold on the aftermarket are successfully done so with the assistance of a Transfer Company or Resale Company. We recommend Allied Transfers because they are reasonably priced and provide an excellent service.

Remember, you will enjoy the benefits when purchasing a resale from a previous owner on the secondary market but you will not have to pay the developers price. These dream vacations at yesterday's prices, at your favorite destinations are just a click away. What are you waiting for?
Keep in mind that emotions are often the driven force behind the buyers motivation to purchase that will always remain yours to uncover. To achieve a successful sale, first a minimum of trust will have to be established between you two and through this solid connection, you will be able to help and find out what your buyers are really looking for.
When a majority of timeshare owners are left on their own to re-sell their program, owners wishing to make a quick sale will often resort to bringing down the value of their timeshare to a bare minimum. However, this will not necessarily help them selling it any faster. You have to put yourself in the consumer's shoes: would you buy something you don't understand?
While the concept of timeshares has been around for over 40 years, it still remains misunderstood and commonly mistaken by the general population. Therefore the price it resells at has often little to do with a successful sale. The pertinence with which its usage matches the consumers needs will most likely achieve success in passing on its benefits to the next owner.
RCI Credit Card points are worth 1 cent each, on average. That means 10,000 RCI Credit Card points have a value of roughly $100. RCI Credit Card points are less valuable than the average travel miles, which are worth almost 1.10 cents each.
Owning a timeshare can be expensive. The salespeople often do a great job hiding most expenses before purchasing. Yet, there's no denying that the cost of timeshare ownership has led many to consider reselling theirs.
One of the first questions timeshare owners ask when they decide to get rid of their timeshare property is whether they can sell it back to the resort. They can, but the process is tricky. See, timeshare salespeople often use the resale possibility as a selling point to potential buyers. However, this assurance is not always reliable. 781b155fdc
