download profile pictures from facebook

Scenario: I am working on an app through which i need to download the user's profile picture from Facebook, apply a specific filter and then re-upload and set it as profile picture, which is possible using this trick. 'makeprofile=1'

In this guide, I will share with you a few tips and tricks that you can use to download profile pictures or DP from locked Facebook accounts. Facebook in the last few years has changed the way we knew it since the late 2010 era.

Mind you that there is no official or straightforward way to download the pictures of any locked Facebook account. That is only possible on Facebook accounts on which the respective content is set to public access.

If you are accessing Facebook on a desktop browser then you can use browsers inspect or developer mode feature to copy the profile photo URL and then paste it into a new tab this way you can open the picture and download it.

This is a trick that works only for those Facebook profiles which are not entirely locked. Only the Facebook accounts with profile picture guards can be accessed. You cannot technically download but you can have the picture.

Facebook makes it easy to share photos on its site by using the photo upload feature. When you add photos, they are organized into albums, each of which may contain as many as 200 photos. Anyone who has viewing privileges for your photos is able to copy them via the "Download" link beneath each photo. To protect your photos from being copied, use the privacy settings feature to stop people from having access. However, keep in mind that you cannot stop anyone you give viewing privileges to from downloading your images.

The new profile picture guard tool, which is being piloted in India, does four key things. It stops people from downloading your profile picture, or sharing it, or sending it in a Facebook message. It stops non-friends from tagging anyone including themselves in it. It stops people taking screenshots (where possible, which is only on Android smartphones at the moment). And it adds "a blue border and shield around your profile picture as a visual cue of protection."

Backing up your Facebook messages on your computer requires downloading your account information. On mobile, select your profile picture in Chats > Account Settings > Your Facebook Information > Download Your Information. Select Deselect All, then select Messages, choose a date range, and select Create File.

You can protect your Facebook profile picture by using the profile picture guard. It helps protect the profile picture from misuse. It will give more control to users by restricting the people who can download the profile picture.

Once you apply the profile safeguard, it cannot be downloaded, shared, or sent to someone in a message on Facebook. Also, Facebook users who are not in your friends' list will not be able to tag anyone, including themselves, in your profile picture. It will also prevent other users from taking a screenshot of your profile picture.

In May 2022, a new profile pic app, officially named "NewProfilePic Picture Editor" in the Apple Store and "NewProfilePic: Profile Picture" in the Google Play store, shot to the top of mobile charts with hundreds of thousands of downloads. As people posted photos from this new app, a piece of mobile software that uses artificial intelligence to create profile pics that look as if they had been painted, messages started circulating on social media claiming that this app was some sort of Russian malware scam.

The permissions listed in the above-displayed image aren't out of the ordinary, in terms of what many popular mobile apps do. When we compared the contents of this screenshot to that of other top apps, such as TikTok, WhatsApp, and Instagram, we found that requesting users' permission to "receive data from internet" and "have full network access" isn't unusual. People should certainly be aware that they are granting this amount of access to companies when they download their apps. That said, New Profile Pic's permissions aren't abnormal.

Since all the pictures shared on the social networks bear our #NewProfilePic logo, people use app store search to find the app. If you will check the search results you will see other apps with pretty similar titles. And some of them have in-app purchases. It is misleading and some users download several apps to get the effect and in some they may activate the trial via the paywall. They simply remove the app afterwards (which does not stop the subscription) and get charged after the trial is over. So currently the charges are not triggered by our apps, but by the competitors. 350c69d7ab
