My mom is 80, and finding good Denturists in Chilliwack, BC is not an easy task, especially if you don’t just want “just to have it”. We went to several places, so I can tell you in order, so that it will be easier for you to navigate. We started with one very advertised clinic - I will not name it, so as not to make bad advertising. Everything looked beautiful, an appointment by appointment, white coats, a coffee machine. But they talked to my mom as if she didn’t understand at all - quickly, technically, without explanations. The first visit - impressions in 15 minutes, then a week of waiting, then they gave her a denture that did not fit her at all. It was too high, she could not close her mouth normally, constantly bit the inside of her cheek. We were told: “You need to get used to it, you have been toothless for a long time.” This, to put it mildly, was not satisfactory. After that, on the advice of a friend, we went to Cascade Denture Clinic - and there everything was different. Calm, almost homely atmosphere, everything is explained in simple words. The dentist is a man of about 50, very thoughtful, obviously experienced. He started with an examination, asked in detail about previous dentures, nutrition, even how she sleeps (because it affects the pressure in the jaw area). He made 2 types of impressions, then conducted a test fit with wax dentures so that mom could feel how it would look and feel. There were 3 stages of fittings and only then the final version.

I came across this topic at the right time. My mother-in-law lives in Chilliwack and also started complaining about her old dentures - now I will know that denturists in Chilliwack, BC can differ greatly in their approach. It is nice to read real recommendations, especially when it comes to the elderly.
